NEW PRODUCT ANNOUCEMENT Safety Latching Lifting Hook for Pipe
PEMCO of New Mexico is now manufacturing the Safety Latching Lifting Hook (Patent Pending). The Safety Latching Pipe Hook is one of the products which falls under the pending patent for the Safety Latching Lifting Hook. It was designed to provide optimal safety when picking up and laying down pipe and tubing. The "Hook" has a safety latching mechanism which is unique to lifting hooks. The latching mechanism is spring loaded, which allows the pipe to be loaded (hooked) into the pipe hook without having to press the trigger mechanism. After loading the pipe, the spring loaded latch rests against the inside stop of the hook, keeping the pipe securely within the pipe hook. Pulling the trigger retracts the latch from its closed position to its open position, which allows the pipe to be released from the hook. The trigger guard protects the user's hand and acts as a slide guide when loading pipe into the hook. We are currently manufacturing the Safety Pipe Hook for 2 3/8", 2 7/8", 3 1/2" pipe, upset and non-upset. Additional sizes are available upon request. A shorter handle version is available for use as a general safety pickup hook (i.e. to pickup tubing tongs, etc.). Certified to hold 2,800 pounds. A Safety Hook to Sandline Adapter is also available, which has a 3/4" sucker rod pin on one end and is slotted with a safety bolt on the other end.
